Georgecandoit has a useful pedigree and he shaped with plenty of promise when finishing runner-up on his debut at Thirsk a fortnight ago, beaten only a length by another promising newcomer.
He raced in touch but was doing his best work at the finish, staying on to take second place in the final furlong and, though he will likely be suited by six furlongs, that run will have put an edge on him so he's entitled to be much sharper now. He sets a solid standard on form with the prospect of even more to come.
ANANDA - 18:42 Doncaster
Ananda has clearly had her problems, having not been seen on the track for nearly two years, but it is interesting that leading connections are persevering with her, and she looks particularly interesting on her return from an absence.
She has to give away a lot of weight, but still comfortably comes out top on Timeform weight-adjusted ratings, and the form of her win at Yarmouth when last seen has worked out well. Ananda comfortably beat a couple of next-time-out winners on that occasion, who have since developed into useful performers, and she will more than likely be ready to roll.
